TradeCopier for Quantower

Copy trades from one master account to multiple follower accounts — entries, exits, brackets, and pending orders — with per-follower sizing and symbol mapping, and safety defaults designed for prop-firm traders running several accounts at once.

What it copies

Entries & scale-ins

New positions and additions on the master are mirrored to each enabled follower.

Partial & full exits

Follower quantities re-sync to the follower position size whenever the master scales in or out.

SL/TP brackets

Bracket orders copy with the position, including later price and trigger modifications. Bracket prices copy verbatim (NQ and MNQ share a price scale).

Pending entry orders

Working limit/stop entry orders on the master are copied, modified, and cancelled on followers — per-follower toggleable.

Per-follower sizing

Quantity multipliers per symbol root (NQ/MNQ default 2.0 in the sample config), a default multiplier, and a hard maxQuantity cap per follower.

Symbol mapping

Map a master root to a different follower root — trade NQ on the master, copy as MNQ on a follower — with the contract expiry suffix preserved and rolls handled by name-based resolution.

Note: a cross-asset map (e.g. NQ → ES) would need a price factor and is intentionally not implemented.

How it works

TradeCopier is a Quantower strategy (C#) that runs on your master connection. It's fully event-driven — no timers, no polling. On each master event it does dictionary lookups against accounts and symbols resolved once at startup, places or modifies the follower order through Quantower's API, checks the result, and logs one line per copy with its internal latency. Mappings are persisted to mappings.json after each event and reconciled on restart. Failures are never auto-retried: the broker's message is logged and the mapping is marked Errored.

What a copy looks like in the log
COPY entry → follower MFFU-EVAL-1 : 0.83 ms (dry-run)
COPY bracket-tp → follower MFFU-EVAL-1 : 1.04 ms (dry-run)
LINKED: master order … → follower order …

Internal latency measures event-receipt to API-call completion inside Quantower. The broker/exchange round trip will dominate total copy time in practice.

Configuration: followers.json

Followers are configured in one plain-text JSON file that sits next to the strategy. Comments and trailing commas are allowed. If the file is missing or invalid, the strategy falls back to a built-in follower and logs a loud warning.

Safety defaults

  • Master switch defaults OFF — dry-run until you deliberately enable real execution.
  • No automatic retries, ever. Failures log and stop.
  • Startup never trades (syncOnStart: false). Reconciliation reports mismatches; it doesn't act on them.
  • Followers can never be the master — followers are resolved first and excluded from master detection.
  • Every event handler is exception-guarded — one failure can't take the strategy down.
  • Quantities are floored to whole contracts; a master reduction never rounds down to a no-op while the master still holds.

Requirements

  • Quantower (strategy built against TradingPlatform.BusinessLayer v1.146.18)
  • Windows PC or VPS running Quantower
  • Visual Studio to build the strategy from source (steps in the setup guide)
  • One master account and at least one follower account reachable in Quantower
  • Permission from your prop firm / broker to use trade copying — your responsibility to confirm
