FAQ

Honest answers

Straight answers, including the uncomfortable ones. If your question isn't here, ask us.

Does it work with my prop firm?

TradeCopier works with accounts reachable through Quantower. Whether you're permitted to use a trade copier or an automated bot on an evaluation or funded account is set by your firm's rules — and firms differ. Check your firm's terms (and ask them if it's unclear) before using any automation. Using a tool your firm prohibits can cost you the account, and that's your responsibility to verify.

Which brokers does it work with?

Any broker or firm connection you can load in Quantower. The copier resolves accounts and symbols on each follower's own connection by name, so master and followers don't have to share a connection.

Does it run in the cloud?

No. Both tools run inside Quantower on your own PC or VPS. Your credentials and account access stay on your machine. If you want it running while your PC is off, you'd run Quantower on a VPS of your own.

Do I need to know how to code?

For TradeCopier, no — configuration is a JSON text file with a documented sample. Building the strategy from source uses Visual Studio, and the setup guide walks through it. The AutoTrader Bot is designed around parameters and JSON rules rather than code.

What does 'dry-run' mean?

With the master switch off, the tool computes and logs exactly what it would send — order, symbol, quantity — without sending anything. It's the intended first mode for every new setup.

Will these tools improve my results?

They execute what you configure — a manual strategy copied across accounts, or rules you define. Execution tools don't create an edge, and we make no claim that they will improve anyone's results. Your strategy, risk management, and discipline decide outcomes.

What are the requirements?

Quantower on Windows, accounts you can access in Quantower, and — for the first build — Visual Studio to compile the copier strategy. See the setup guide.

What if an order fails on a follower?

TradeCopier does not retry. It logs the broker's message, marks that mapping as errored, and stops copying that mapping until you review it. This is deliberate: an automatic retry can double-fill.

Can I copy between different products, like NQ to MNQ?

Yes — symbol mapping translates the root (NQ → MNQ) and preserves the expiry suffix. Bracket prices copy verbatim because NQ and MNQ share a price scale. Cross-asset maps (NQ → ES) are intentionally not supported.

How do refunds work?

Final refund terms will be published on the pricing page before paid checkout opens, and those terms will govern purchases. (Current pricing-page wording is a placeholder.)

How is support handled?

By email, typically within 1–2 business days, for software setup and configuration. Support does not include trading or strategy advice.

Is the AutoTrader Bot available now?

No — it's in development. Join the waitlist on the bot page and we'll email when early access opens. There is nothing to buy yet, and no pre-order.
